GEOSNet Awards

The GEOSNet awards are presented to individuals with outstanding contributions to geotechnical risk and reliability. The awards are given in a two-year frequency at each ISGSR symposium.

Categories of Awards

  1. GEOSNet Distinguished Award. This is a lifetime achievement award. It recognises an individual who has contributed substantially to the geotechnical risk and reliability community in research, education and/or leadership.
  2. GEOSNet Award. Recognises an individual who has made impactful contributions to geotechnical reliability, particularly theoretical innovations that led to improvements in geotechnical engineering practice or theoretical advances; or an individual who has made impactful contributions to geotechnical risk assessment and management, particularly contributions that have led to safer communities.
  3. GEOSNet Young Researcher Award. Recognises an individual below 40 years old that publishes an impactful series of research papers (two or more papers) that advance geotechnical risk and reliability as a distinctive discipline. The "distinctive" elements are those elements that cannot be accounted for in existing deterministic geotechnical practice and elements addressing needs of geotechnical engineering practice distinctive from structural reliability.
